Wells Wood Turning and Finishing Inc., a 30-employee manufacturer of wooden homewares, furniture components and promotional items, has been acquired by Turning Acquisitions LLC.
The new owners took over operations at the central Maine firm from previous owners Tom Wallace and Alan Chesney at the end of November 2016.
Turning Acquisitions principals Christian Chandler and Simon Varney will operate the company as Wells Wood Turning & Finishing, and the plant will remain at its Buckfield location, with all current employees in place. Other terms of the sale were not disclosed.

“We are thrilled to become part of the Wells Wood operation,” said Varney, new vice president, noting the former owners “have done a fantastic job over the past dozen years, building a solid manufacturing operation with high-quality products and a very positive reputation in the marketplace.” Varney said the would maintain the standards of the former owners while looking to expand into new markets and developing new products.
